Jaisson began his musical journey at a young age when he demonstrated an instinctual ability to capture rhythms quickly. As he developed, his efforts went into perfecting his skills as a percussionist, singer and songwriter. He polished his craft through appearances with Bill Withers, Al Green, Jean Luc Ponty, Freddy King, Santana, the Staple Singers, and Tina Turner in the 70s and 80s. As a founding member of HotHouse, he spent ten years as the house band at the popular Kansas City night spot, the Levee. During a two-year hiatus from HotHouse, Jaisson taught African percussion and Jazz History at the University Academy Charter School. He also toured with reggae favorites AZ-ONE and Blues Legends, Little Hatch and the House Rockers, and Joe Louis Walker. Jaisson expanded his musical horizons through outreach programs in area schools as an accompanist/clinician with the Friends of Alvin Ailey. He continues his work with children using his talents with the Traditional Music Society by performing in West African, Brazilian, and Caribbean ensembles. His first solo recording, "Tug of Love", was co-produced with Alex Cordero and includes cameos by other HotHouse members and is set for a 2003 release. Jaisson is thrilled to be back in the groove with HotHouse. Contact Me |
